Arsenal youngster Folarin Balogun was snapped yesterday during pre-season training and some Gunners supporters were raving about him on Twitter.

The striker is valued at £8 million (Sky Sports) by Arsenal amid summer interest from both Brentford and Liverpool.

Balogun had up to now refused to sign a new contract, after failing to be convinced regarding a pathway to the first-team and his current deal expires in 2021.

There is still optimism among the supporters that a new deal can be struck between the two parties and it’s fair to say, Arsenal supporters were delighted to see him in a training snap yesterday.

Balogun scored 10 goals in 15 Premier League 2 appearances during 2019/20 and was a Brentford target before they focused their attention on Ivan Toney from Peterborough.

The 19-year-old has scored three goals in 10 appearances for the England under-18 setup and the striker looks set for a bright future.

Following yesterday’s image of him training for the under-23 ranks, Gunners fans took to Twitter to call on the club and Mikel Arteta to get him tied down to a new deal.

If Alexandre Lacazette is sold in the summer, there could be an opening for a new striker – and some Arsenal fans wouldn’t mind Balogun being given a go, it would seem.

Others, however, simply want him to sign a new deal and head to the Championship to play regular first-team football.
