Arsenal fans react on Twitter as Arteta makes Martinelli claim

A number of Arsenal fans have taken to Twitter to react to comments from Mikel Arteta in which he suggested that he does not want to loan Gabriel Martinelli out in January.

It has been a frustrating start to the campaign for the 20-year-old. He started the Gunners’ first two Premier League games.

However, he has been an unused substitute for their last five in the top flight.

It comes with Arteta already facing questions from supporters regarding whether he is doing enough to get the best out of the Brazilian.

To some, a loan move in the winter will make a lot of sense if he continues to find himself on the periphery of the squad.

But Arteta has suggested – in comments reported by Football London – that there are no plans to let him go in January when asked if he would like to see the £90,000-a-week forward leave the Emirates on loan.

It does appear that the comments have not gone down well with a number of Arsenal fans on social media.

Martinelli is certainly a favourite amongst supporters. Of course, he was outrageously good at times following his move to North London.

And some clearly feel that he would benefit greatly from going out on loan. They certainly fear what his future holds if he continues to struggle for game-time.

Plenty will definitely be hoping that Arteta’s stance on Martinelli changes in some way – whether that be by sanctioning a loan or using him more.
