Gilberto Silva tweeted after the Burnley result on Saturday that Arsenal are “still progressing” – but that was met by a wave of upset Gunners supporters.

Arsenal, who had won their last two consecutive games, were held to a 1-1 draw yesterday away to Burnley in the Premier League.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s early strike was cancelled out by Chris Wood’s goal in the first half, with Gunners midfielder Granit Xhaka massively at fault for the Burnley goal.

It means that Mikel Arteta’s side are 10th in the league standings and the chances of dragging themselves back into the top four race look slim.

They’ve amassed just 38 points from 27 games, which is why many feel a focus should now be put onto the Europa League.

The North London club face Olympiacos in a two-legged Europa League Round of 16 tie, with the first meeting going ahead on Thursday.

Arsenal legend Gilberto Silva was positive with his post-match tweet after his former club let a lead slip against Burnley.

A selection of Arsenal fans on social media are fed up of hearing about the squad moving in the right direction, as they are impatient and want results now.

There is every reason to be excited about the core group of young players at the Emirates Stadium, who look like they could be future stars if moulded correctly and Bukayo Saka is perhaps the one who stands out the most.

But in the last few years the current team has look a shadow of a club that has had success engrained into it, with Gilberto Silva a famous part of the ‘Invincibles’ team that went an entire league season unbeaten.

Here are some Arsenal fans that were wound up by Gilberto Silva’s positive message, which goes to show how frustrated some of them are:
