Issa Diop impressed but failed to prevent West Ham United from suffering a 2-0 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur on Tuesday night – and Arsenal supporters have reacted to the Frenchman’s display, amid reported interest.
Diop, 23, is one of the first names on the West Ham team sheet at the moment under David Moyes – clocking up 66 appearances for the Hammers since his move from French side Toulouse in the summer of 2018.
He was tasked with marking Tottenham striker and England captain Harry Kane on Tuesday night and did a good job of it, until the Hammers went searching for an equaliser after Tomas Soucek’s own goal.

Strong, commanding in the air and quick on the ground, Diop kept Tottenham at bay with a number of blocks and interceptions. But another loss sees West Ham closer to going down, so could Diop be on his way?
The Mirror have recently claimed that Arsenal are interested in signing Diop this summer, with West Ham valuing their 6ft 4in French stopper at a whopping £60million (Mail). He has a contract until the summer of 2023.
Arsenal supporters reacted on Twitter to Diop’s performance, with many discussing whether the French rock would be a good signing for Arsenal this summer – despite his enormous price tag.
