Thierry Henry has annouced on Twitter that he is to become the new manager of MLS side Montreal Impact ahead of the 2020 campaign which begins next February – and Arsenal fans have reacted to his Tweet.

Henry, 42, earned legendary status at Arsenal as he spearheaded the Invincibles side and clocked up a total of 376 appearances for the Gunners across two spells. He scored a huge 228 goals in that time, winning the Premier League twice.

However, since the Frenchman has retired and gone into management, he is yet to replicate the successes he had as a player. After a stint as Belgium assistant manager, Henry returned to former club Monaco as manager.

But he lasted little more than three months, winning just four of 20 matches in charge. Now, Henry has taken on his second job in the world of football management – this time at Montreal Impact in MLS.

Henry knows all about the MLS, after spending four years with the New York Red Bulls between 2010 and 2014 as a player. He clocked up 135 appearances, scoring 52 goals and winning the 2013 Supporters Shield.

Now, Henry returns to the MLS with Canadian-based outfit Impact. He posted on Twitter to confirm the news, prompting reaction from Arsenal fans – some of whom are disgruntled given the Gunners’ own managerial situation.
