Arsenal are reportedly interested in signing forward Ali Akman – and some of the club’s fans on Twitter have responded positively to the speculation.

Akman, 18, is a highly-rated youngster playing in the second-tier of Turkish football with Bursaspor.

The centre-forward has a growing reputation after scoring nine goals in 17 games across all competitions so far during this campaign.

According to the Daily Mail, Arsenal are currently tracking the teenage talent.

It is understood that London and Premier League rivals Chelsea are also eyeing Akman, while Red Bull Salzburg and Galatasaray both tried to secure deals for him in December.

The report states that he’ll be available to sign this month for £3million, as he’s not willing to extend his current deal at Bursaspor beyond the summer.

A selection of Arsenal supporters on social media are excited about the links to Akman

He’s not a player well known to English audiences due to the fact he’s only a rising star in Turkey, but he’s already making an impact at senior level and also plays for Turkey’s Under-21 side.

Current Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has been under pressure during time this season, but one of his biggest strengths has been the way he’s leaned on younger players and he’s willing to give individuals a chance regardless of age.
