Arsenal fans react as Takuma Asano reportedly agrees exit to join Partizan

Arsenal’s Takuma Asano is close to leaving north London for a loan spell at Partizan Belgrade, according to Volim Partizan.

They report that the Japanense 24-year-old will spend the season with the Serbian outfit, who then have the option to sign him after that.

But Asano’s Gunners contract will have expired by then anyway, making him a free agent and meaning it is likely that he will not play for the club again.

Signed by Arsene Wenger in 2016, Asano’s Gunners career has failed to get off the ground and it makes sense for him to spend the season away from the Emirates Stadium.

Lots of Arsenal fans took to Twitter to urge the club to just cut their losses and get him off the books full time – but that looks set to happen all in due course anyway.

Some can’t believe Wenger signed Asano, but the Frenchman likely took a gamble on a talented player who has simply failed to adapt and get up to the level required at the club.

It’s hardly surprising that Unai Emery has been similarly unimpressed and Asano will hope to get his career on track once more with Partizan and show the form that convinced Arsenal to sign him.
