Arsenal fans react as Shkodran Mustafi is linked with Italian club Lazio
Arsenal centre-back Shkodran Mustafi is reportedly wanted by Italian side Lazio – and some Gunners fans on Twitter have responded by claiming they’d like to see him leave.
Citta Celeste report that Serie A outfit Lazio have started discussions with Arsenal about signing the defender.
The 28-year-old is out of contract at the Emirates Stadium at the end of the season, with Football London previously claiming that he was hoping to complete his exit from North London during the current January window.
World Cup winner Mustafi joined Arsenal back in 2016 from Valencia, but it looks like his exit will come at some stage in 2021.
He is an experienced centre-back that has won two FA Cup titles with the Gunners.
But the defender now finds himself down the pecking order under manager Mikel Arteta, which is why it seems like the right time for his departure.

He’s never been a favourite during his time at the Emirates, as individual errors have often clouded over any strong performances.
Lazio could be an ideal destination for him though at this stage of his career away from the intensity of the Premier League and he’d be joining a quality side that are in the last-16 of the Champions League this season.
A selection of Arsenal supporters on social media have said that he should be sold amid interest.
Here are some Gunners fans discussing Mustafi:
