Arsenal reportedly wanted to sign RB Leipzig star Christopher Nkunku during Unai Emery’s reign as manager at the club and supporters are frustrated on Twitter after watching the assist machine shine on Wednesday night.
Leipzig played out an enthralling 2-2 draw with the in-form Hertha Berlin on Wednesday night as goals from Patrik Schick and Lukas Klostermann were not enough to keep pace with league leaders Bayern Munich – who beat Dortmund on Tuesday.
Hertha, in fact, took the lead as Liverpool loane Marko Grujic volleyed home from a corner. But Nkunku, who has become renowned for his incredible number of assists this season, laid on his 16th of the campaign for Klostermann to equalise.

Despite a red card shown to Marcel Halstenberg, Leipzig took the lead through Schick – somewhat fortuitously. But it was Krzysztof Piatek who equalised for Hertha in the 82nd minute from the penalty spot. Nkunku was impressive as ever.
Now with four goals and 16 assists for the season, the 22-year-old midfielder is thriving at Leipzig under Julian Nagelsmann following his £14million (Goal) move from PSG last summer. Back in January 2019, BBC Sport claimed Emery wanted Nkunku.
A move never escalated more than just interest, though – and Arsenal fans have reacted in a frustrated manner on Twitter as they watched Nkunku provide another creative masterclass for Leipzig.
