Ray Parlour has suggested that Arsenal fans would be delighted to see their club raid north London rivals Tottenham Hotspur and lure Dele Alli to the Emirates in the coming weeks – and Arsenal fans have responded on Twitter.
Alli, 24, remains on the fringes at Tottenham and linked with the exit door – as Jose Mourinho struggles to get the best out of the former MK Dons star. The 37-time England international is enduring his worst Spurs spell since joining for £5million (BBC).
The Telegraph have claimed this week that Paris Saint-Germain are ready to pull out of a move to land Alli on loan despite talks. Inter Milan remain interested, but it looks as though Alli will remain at Spurs – with Daniel Levy keen to keep him.
However, asked if Alli should join a different Premier League team and whether Alli could join Arsenal, Gunners legend Parlour believed Arsenal fans would be happy if Mikel Arteta’s side signed Alli – but made it clear a move has zero chance of happening.
“I think Dele Alli would be more of a fit at Arsenal than Jorginho,” Parlour said on Friday’s talkSPORT Breakfast. “I think Arsenal fans would be pretty happy, no? They’d be getting a quality player from their rivals, so I think they’d be pretty happy.
“I don’t think Spurs would sell him to Arsenal; I think there would be uproar from Spurs fans if that happened, but he would certainly be a good fit for Arsenal. I’m trying to think how much he would be worth – £50million?”
Even if Tottenham wanted to sell Alli before October 5, the chances of Alli joining another Premier League side would be unlikely. A move abroad to a PSG, an Inter Milan or a club of the like would have a much better chance.
Arsenal supporters have responded on Twitter to the news that Parlour has suggested Alli would be a good fit for the Gunners, and many think he would be a good signing.
I'd be all for Alli, but not at that price. If we could afford £50m then we would've laid the £45m release clause for Partey, who I believe we'd all prefer. Or even the money being asked for Aoura. At £20-25m Alli would be a good deal and help with our lack of homegrown players.

I’d take him for 20 million. Useful player and get goals from midfield. Would just have to cut out the childish dances etc
