Rafael van der Vaart has been quoted as saying that he has urged Tottenham supremo Daniel Levy to sign Ajax ace and Arsenal-linked Hakim Ziyech – and Gunners fans have reacted on Twitter to van der Vaart’s comments.
Ziyech, 25, has starred in Ajax’s incredible side that completed the league and cup double last season – as well as starring in their Champions League campaign which almost saw them qualify for the Champions League final.
The Moroccan has been in stunning form during his 148 appearances for Ajax – scoring 46 goals and laid on 70 assists. The Daily Mirror claimed earlier this month that both Liverpool and Arsenal were interested in signing Ziyech.
Spanish newspaper AS report Ziyech can leave Ajax for £44million, but the chances are that the attacker is going to have the pick of Europe’s biggest clubs next summer. Van der Vaart urged Spurs supremo Levy to land Ziyech.

“I really hope he goes to Tottenham Hotspur and I think so,” van der Vaart was quoted as saying by Voetbal Primeur. “I sent a message today [Sunday] to Levy. I said, get Ziyech after this season. I am convinced he will become a sensation in London.”
It is believed that Ziyech has told Ajax TV in the past- as quoted by The Sun – that it is his “dream” is to move to either Arsenal or Barcelona at some point in his career. Tottenham are likely to be keen, with Christian Eriksen leaving soon.
However, Arsenal may also want to land the playmaker given the situation surrounding Mesut Ozil at the moment. Arsenal fans reacted on Twitter to van der Vaart’s comments, questioning a move to Spurs by suggesting he would rather Arsenal.
