Arsenal fans have given their reactions to comments made by Sam Allardyce on Monday morning that he would be able to fix the team’s defence ‘tomorrow’.

The former Premier League manager was speaking on talkSPORT on the Alan Brazil Sport Breakfast show when he made the claim.

Arsenal have been struggling all season at the back, and are without a clean sheet since October 6 when they recorded a 1-0 over Bournemouth.

There were concerns before a ball was even kicked that the Gunners’ defensive options were not good enough, and that has proven to be correct.

Freddie Ljungberg has been unable to tighten things up since replacing Unai Emery, but journeyman Allardyce reckons he’d have no issues.

He said: “I could come and work on Arsenal’s defence and make them better tomorrow, not a problem whatsoever.

“I’ve done it everywhere I’ve been – Newcastle, Blackburn, Bolton, West Ham Crystal Palace, Everton, I’ve done it all there.

Asked if he would take the job if offered, he added: “Of course I would. I don’t know a man who wouldn’t!

“But I’m never going to be in the frame. I’m not fashionable enough for Arsenal.”

Allardyce, whose Premier League gigs have included Bolton Wanderers, Newcastle United, Blackburn Rovers, West Ham United, Sunderland, Crystal Palace and Everton, has been out of work since leaving Goodison Park in May 2018.

Lots of Arsenal fans reacted to Allardyce’s comments on social media, with some stunned and some suggesting he actually would make Arsenal more solid at the back.
