Cesar Azpilicueta put the Blues back in the ascendancy with six minutes left to play and that looked to be that.
Arsenal weren’t to be denied something for their efforts though and Hector Bellerin’s goal three minutes later earned them a point.
Arteta was naturally delighted. He took to Twitter after the game to speak of how proud his team had made him.
Arsenal showed great character to come from behind twice despite having a man less for so long.
The Gunners do look like a different animal under the Spaniard.
The soft underbelly of old looks to be evaporating under Arteta and that should bode well in the future.
