Arsenal fans react as Miguel Azeez signs professional contract

Arsenal have confirmed on their official website that 17-year-old talent Miguel Azeez has put pen to paper on his professional contract with the club after shining in the Gunners’ Under-18 side of late – and Arsenal fans are delighted on Twitter.

Azeez, 17, is already an established member of Arsenal’s Under-18 side and has played 19 times for the Gunners at that level. A central midfielder, Azeez is able to push on and act as a number 10 – or sit back in holding midfield.

The youngster has also shone at England Under-17 level, scoring 12 goals in 14 appearances for the Young Lions. His excellent form even saw him captain Arsenal’s Under-18 side in August, in a 1-0 defeat to Southampton.

Azeez’s rapid rise was also evident in his call up to Arsenal’s Under-23 side at the end of August, and he made a 17-minute appearance in a 2-2 draw with Derby’s second string. He replaced Emile Smith-Rowe just after 70 minutes.

It is unclear for how long Azeez has signed on at Arsenal, though what is clear is that the young midfielder is expected to have a bright future with the Gunners as he continued to exceed expectation. His focus will be nailing down a place in the Under-23 side.

Arsenal fans reacted on Twitter to the news that Azeez – who was first signed by Arsenal as a five-year-old – has agreed professional terms with the club and many are excited at the prospect of seeing Azeez in the near future.
