Matthew Dennis has completed a move to Norwich City after his Arsenal contract expired earlier this summer, joining the recently-relegated side on a three-year contract – and Gunners fans have responded on Twitter.

Dennis, 18, saw his contract at Arsenal expire at the end of June despite being a Gunners academy product. He was a regular member of the Under-18 side at Arsenal and featured in the Gunners progress in the FA Youth Cup – until the sixth round.

He also made one appearance for the club’s reserve side alongside Emile Smith-Rowe, Folarin Balogun and Tyreece John-Jules in Premier League 2. But the Gunners decided against keeping Dennis, who was once called by England’s Under-15 side.

Now, Dennis has joined Norwich City – putting pen to paper on a three-year deal at Carrow Road. He is expected to link up with the Championship side’s Under-23 team with a view to breaking into the senior side at some point during 2020-21.

Norwich are renowned for bringing through younger players and Dennis will be hopeful he can become the newest name on a long list of teenage stars in yellow and green. Jamal Lewis, Max Aarons and Todd Cantwell are recent examples.

Arsenal supporters have reacted on Twitter to the news that Dennis has completed a permanent move to Norwich in a deal that will see Dennis remain in east Anglia until 2023 – and many have questioned the decision to let him go.
