Arsenal fans react as Matheus Martinelli is linked with summer move

Arsenal are keen on adding another player with the surname Martinelli to their ranks in the summer, with Fluminense prospect Matheus a target for the transfer window.

According to Globo Esporte, the Gunners are keen to sign the player who has a release clause of £35 million in his deal with the Brazilian outfit.

The two Martinelli’s are not related but he could follow the same pathway to the Premier League as Gabriel when transfers are permitted once again.

Martinelli is a central midfielder and has scored three goals in 17 games since making the step up to play first-team football.

An injection of energy in the middle of the park wouldn’t go amiss in Mikel Arteta’s ranks.

Mo Elneny and Granit Xhaka are both similar players, whilst Dani Ceballos will return to Real Madrid in the summer.
