Arsenal fans react as Mat Ryan stars in draw against Fulham

Arsenal came from behind to earn a share of the spoils at home to Fulham on Sunday afternoon. The Gunners scored in the seventh minute of stoppage time with Eddie Nketiah poking home in the penalty area.

The on-loan Brighton goalkeeper had come up for a corner late on and was on hand to play a big part in the goal. After the game, supporters reacted to the performance of the goalkeeper on Twitter.

Ryan is on loan at the Emirates Stadium until the end of 2020/21 and was handed a rare Premier League start at the expense of Bernd Leno against Fulham.

A Josh Maja penalty had given the Cottagers hopes of claiming a surprise victory in their pursuit of survival. Nketiah’s goal leaves Scott Parker and his team with it all to do, however.

Ryan is paid £35,000-a-week during his time at the Emirates Stadium and was signed to act as a capable understudy to Leno.

After the game on Sunday, the goalkeeper came in for some praise from the fan base who took to Twitter to rave about his showing.
