Arsenal fans react as Marcelo Flores scores hat-trick
A number of Arsenal fans have taken to Twitter to laud Marcelo Flores after the midfielder marked the opening day of the Under-18 Premier League campaign by scoring a hat-trick.
Flores – who arrived from Ipswich Town back in 2019 – scored on the opening day of last season as the Gunners beat Southampton. He went on to end the campaign with four goals.
He was rewarded with his first professional contract in October last year.
The 17-year-old also made his under-23 debut on the final day.
And he seems to have picked up where he left off.
Flores bagged a treble as Arsenal beat Aston Villa 5-3 on Saturday. He broke the deadlock midway through the first-half. And he went on to score either side of the break to complete the hat-trick.
Of course, it has proved to be a difficult weekend for Arsenal fans. The first-team suffered an incredibly disappointing defeat to Brentford on Friday.
