A number of Arsenal fans have taken to Twitter to comment on reports from the Daily Star over the weekend claiming that the Gunners fear a battle with a number of sides, including Liverpool, for Martin Odegaard this summer.

Odegaard appears to have put himself at the top of Arsenal’s summer wishlist. The Norwegian had been outstanding in the weeks before the international break.

However, his form could cost Arsenal dearly. The Daily Star reports that the Gunners fear that his asking price could be as high as £50 million at the end of the season.

Meanwhile, the report has also claimed that Arsenal fear they have plenty of competition for his signature. PSG, Chelsea and Liverpool are mentioned as sides Mikel Arteta’s men are expecting to register an interest.

The positive news for Arsenal is the report states that they believe that they are in pole position for the 22-year-old. But the links with the likes of Liverpool have alarmed some fans.

Understandably, the supporters would be livid if he ended up moving to Anfield this summer.

Arsenal are seemingly in a fantastic position to land Odegaard permanently. He appears happy at the Emirates. So if he is going to leave Real Madrid in some capacity ahead of next season, the Gunners look to be in the driving seat.

So many feel that there is no excuse to not get something done if he is available. There will clearly be a lot of anger if he moves elsewhere.

Here is how some of the Arsenal fans have reacted to the reports…
