Arsenal supporters are surprised to see the full extent of Mikel Arteta’s record against big clubs in the Premier League following last night’s surprising 1-0 win over London rivals Chelsea.
The Gunners fought their way to victory yesterday after Emile Smith Rowe’s first-half goal was all that separated the two sides at Stamford Bridge, with Arsenal doing the double over Chelsea for the first time since the 2002/03 season.

The win also added another impressive result to Arteta’s CV, with the former Manchester City assistant coach now claiming wins against the likes of Manchester United, both home and away, Tottenham, Liverpool and Leicester City, clubs Arsenal have struggled to claim victories against in recent years under Unai Emery and Arsene Wenger.
And supporters on social media were surprised to see this record be achieved under Arteta, and here’s what some fans had to say about this run of wins against big clubs in the Premier League on Twitter…

Despite another impressive win against a big rival, Arteta is likely to miss out on European football altogether this season, with the Gunners needing to win their two remaining fixtures as well as clubs above them to all but lose their final games of the campaign.
