Arsenal fans react as former player scores Sunday screamer
Aberdeen were embarrassed in the Scottish League Cup earlier today but Arsenal fans enjoyed the performance of Jay Emmanuel-Thomas. He scored a cracker during the contest despite a defeat for the Dons against Raith Rovers.
The 30-year-old began his career with Arsenal. He never really made the grade in the first-team and left to join Ipswich in 2011.
Since then he has become a journeyman, featuring for QPR, Gillingham, Bristol City, MK Dons and PTT Rayong in Thailand.
He checked in at Aberdeen earlier this summer and got his Dons account off with a cracker of a goal which gave his new team the lead.
Naturally, he was pretty pleased with the effort and Aberdeen supporters will hope to see plenty more goals from the experienced performer.
It was Arsenal fans who had the most to say though. They took to Twitter after the game to wax lyrical about their former youth prospect.
Emmanuel-Thomas made just six appearances for the Gunners first-team, failing to register a goal contribution.

He did lift the FA Youth Cup during his time at the club and was backed as a highly-rated member of the Hale End academy.
Emmanuel-Thomas never cut the mustard though and has been forced to forge a career away from the Emirates Stadium.
