Arsenal are reportedly ‘confident’ of completing a deal to sign Norwich City right-back Max Aarons ahead of plenty of Premier League competition this summer, and are ready to sell Hector Bellerin – prompting reaction from Gunners fans on Twitter.
Aarons, 21, is considered one of England’s best defenders at his age having already clocked up a whopping 128 appearances in all competitions for Norwich. He has helped guide them to promotion twice, either side of a relegation in three seasons.
Football site 90Min claim Arsenal are looking to freshen things up and both Edu and Mikel Arteta are willing to cash in on Hector Bellerin this summer – and replace him with England Under-21 international Aarons. He is rated at £30million.
It is believed, though, that Arsenal will not be alone in their pursuit of Aarons. The report states that Manchester City, Everton, Crystal Palace, West Ham and even Barcelona are interested in signing Aarons this summer. He has a contract until 2024.
Arsenal fans have reacted on Twitter to the reports that their club are desperate and ‘confident’ to sign Aarons in the coming months – a player that TransferMarkt claim is represented by the same agent as Cesc Fabregas, in the form of Darren Dein.
