Arsenal continued their recent good form with a 2-0 victory over Newcastle United in the Emirates FA Cup. Goals in extra-time by Emile Smith Rowe and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang ensured a comfortable passage.

The Gunners were in control for the majority of the tie but ultimately couldn’t find a way to breach the Magpies during 90 minutes.

Mikel Arteta’s men weren’t to be denied though and the holders will be part of tonight’s draw for the fourth round.

One man who shone once again was Smith Rowe, who kept up his recent run of solid form.

He was introduced from the bench in the second half and was actually red-carded during the game.

A quick look at VAR by referee Chris Kavanagh, however, showed that his challenge wasn’t showcasing excessive force. The decision was downgraded from a red card to just a yellow.

That proved decisive in the second half of extra-time as Smith Rowe finished off a nice team move to fire Arsenal in front.

Aubameyang sealed the deal for the Gunners with three minutes remaining but all the talk afterwards was regarding the Hale End graduate.

Here is what Arsenal supporters were saying about the 20-year-old on Twitter after another stunning showing.
