Arsenal man Eddie Nketiah became the all-time leading goalscoring for the England under-21 team last night, scoring his 14th goal in 12 games.

The 21-year-old netted in the 2-1 win over Turkey and etched his name into England under-21 folklore in the process.

Nketiah has enjoyed plenty of game time under the stewardship of Mikel Arteta and he’s clearly reaping the rewards playing for the England under-21 side.

The Arsenal man has scored twice this season for the Gunners; in a 2-1 win over West Ham and during a Carabao Cup victory over Leicester.

For Nketiah the challenge moving forward is to earn himself regular football at Arsenal and with Arteta at the helm there’s every chance of that happening.

A loan spell at the start of the 2019/20 campaign saw him net five times in 19 appearances but regular game time was hard to come by.

As a result, he headed back to the Emirates Stadium and was immediately included in Arteta’s plans.

Following his record-breaking night, supporters took to Twitter to rave about the Arsenal talisman and his heroics.

Here is a selection of Tweets from the Arsenal faithful as Nketiah smashes the record for the most goals for the England under-21 team.
