Arsenal fans react as Danilo Pereira shines for PSG, amid Gunners links in summer
Paris Saint-Germain suffered a 2-1 defeat to Manchester United despite boasting home advantage on Tuesday night, with midfielder Danilo Pereira making his debut for PSG – and Arsenal fans have reacted, having been linked in the summer.
Pereira, 29, made his debut for PSG on Tuesday night as they looked to get their Champions League campaign off to a flyer – after Thomas Tuchel took his side to the Champions League final last season, only to lose to Bayern Munich.
With Marquinihos rested on the bench, Pereira impressed with an eye-catching array of passing. He also marshalled the PSG defence well and did his best in keeping Portugal teammate Bruno Fernandes quiet throughout.

Goals from Fernandes – from the penalty spot – and Marcus Rashford proved enough for Manchester United to secure all three points at the Parc des Princes. That is, despite Anthony Martial scoring an own goal from a Neymar corner.
The Daily Mail reported in August that Arsenal were interested in Pereira, and were willing to spend £18million to sign the 41-time international. However, The Gunners instead signed Thomas Partey – and Pereira has joined PSG initially on loan.
Arsenal supporters have responded on Twitter to Pereira’s performance against Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, and many Gunners fans are delighted that their club have brought in Partey over Pereira.
Dinilo Pereira’s defending for Rashford goal. Might have dodged a bullet there. #afc

Reminder that Arsenal Football Club were considering Danilo Pereira as an alternative to Thomas Partey in this window 🤡🤡🤡

To be fair to him, the midfielders that played today aren’t anything special. Glad Arsenal didn’t sign Danilo guy is terrible.
