Arsenal fans react as Dani Ceballos says he thinks he is better suited to La Liga

Dani Ceballos has been quoted by Onda Cero’s Twitter account as saying that he believes he is better suited to playing in Spanish football ahead of the Premier League – and Arsenal fans have responded to his comments.

Ceballos, 24, is edging towards the end of his second season-long loan spell at Arsenal – having spent the last two seasons on loan with the Gunners. In that time, the Spain international has clocked up 74 appearances for Madrid.

The Spaniard has only started 15 of Arsenal’s 33 Premier League games this season and if everyone is fit, he is certainly not in the starting line-up with Thomas Partey, Granit Xhaka and potentially even Mo Elneny preferred.

It is believed that a fee of £22million (La Razon) is required for Arsenal to complete a permanent deal for Ceballos – but the midfielder is expected to return to Real. Now, his latest comments certainly suggest as much.

“I’m learning a lot in the Premier but I think La Liga is better for my game,” Ceballos said. He continued in another Tweet: “Another assignment is difficult. When the season ends we will see, I want to be important and play games.”

Ceballos has a contract at Real Madrid until the summer of 2023, but his chances of game time remain unlikely at his parent club. Luka Modric, Toni Kroos and Casemiro remain first choice – while Fede Valverde seems strong back-up.

Arsenal fans reacted to the midfielder’s comments, a player that is currently earning wages of £52,000 a week, according to Spotrac. Many believe that it is a sign that he is about to leave this summer.
