Arsenal fans react as club reportedly still keen on Lille midfielder

Arsenal are still reportedly interested in signing Lille midfielder Yusuf Yazici after his two Europa League hat-tricks this season – and Gunners fans have responded on Twitter to the potential signing.

Yazici, 23, has been in excellent form for Lille this season – despite only scoring one goal last term. Clocking up 12 appearances in all competitions, the 25-time Turkey international has proved crucial in the Europa League.

The former Trabzonspor star has netted a hat-trick against Sparta Prague in a 4-1 win group game win – before repeating his heroics in a 3-0 away win over AC Milan. Certainly, Yazici has caught the eye around Europe.

The Daily Mail report that Arsenal remain interested in Yazici, with Mesut Ozil stating Yazici is just a new version of himself: “Yazici is an amazing No 10. We have a lot of similarities and I myself in him.”

Yazici, who was bought for £16million (Mail) by Lille, could be on his way to Arsenal – then. Ozil, meanwhile, is out of contract next summer and is expected to leave the club, having been left out of the Premier League side.

Arsenal fans have reacted on Twitter to the reported news that the Gunners are interested in signing the ‘new Ozil’ in Yazici. Many have criticised such a move, given they currently boast the actual Ozil, who is rotting on the sidelines.
