Arsenal fans react as club reportedly set to miss out on Celtic star Odsonne Edouard

The Daily Mail have claimed that Leicester City are set to win the race to sign Celtic hotshot Odsonne Edouard for a bargain figure of £15million, despite interest from Arsenal and Italian side Roma – and Gunners fans have responded on Twitter.

Edouard, 23, is expected to leave in the summer when his Celtic contract enters its final 12 months. He has been linked with an exit for some time, but it is widely believed that he will be on his way in the coming months. Leicester have won the race.

That is according to The Mail, who say Celtic are close to accepting an offer of £15million for Edouard from Leicester – which would see Edouard reunite with Brendan Rodgers. PSG are owned 40% of the profit, meaning they will get £2.4million.

The report also states that Edouard has been ‘courted’ by Arsenal and Roma – but that Rodgers has played on his relationship with the man he signed for Celtic from PSG. Edouard will look to rival Jamie Vardy in the final third, ahead of Kelechi Iheanacho.

Arsenal fans have reacted on Twitter to the reports that they are about to miss out on Edouard – and many are frustrated, especially given the figure to sign Edouard is somewhat cheap for a player with 20 goals in 32 games this season.
