Arsenal are reportedly rivalling four other Premier League sides in pursuit of Paris Saint-Germain skipper Thiago Silva after it was reported the Brazilian’s contract would not be extended his summer – and Gunners fans have reacted on Twitter.
Silva, 35, has entered the final few weeks of his PSG contract which expires at the end of June. It appears the 88-time Brazil international has played his final match for the French champions, clocking up 310 since his £37.5million (Goal) move in 2012.
French newspaper L’Equipe state that the former AC Milan and Fluminense defender has pulled on his PSG shirt for the last time as Thomas Tuchel’s side decide against renewing his enormous £240,000-a-week contract (Foot Mercato).

Now, Football website 90Min have claimed that Arsenal are one of five clubs looking to offer Silva a new home. They are not alone, with Carlo Ancelotti looking to form a reunion at Goodison Park with Silva – after working with him at PSG.
Newcastle’s potential new owners, West Ham and Wolves are also said to be keen. Available for nothing, clubs from the MLS, China, Japan and Qatar as well as former club AC Milan could also consider Silva this summer.
David Luiz told the Standard following his move from Chelsea to PSG that his Brazil teammate is a “great player”, and Arsenal fans seemingly agree on Twitter – with many urging their club to sign him, as a potential tutor to help William Saliba.
