Arsenal are reportedly interested in signing Palmeiras wonderkid Gabriel Veron after the 17-year-old broke into the Brazilian side’s senior team of late – and Gunners fans have reacted on Twitter to the news, with many excited.
ESPN Brasil claim Arsenal are rivalling Barcelona for the Brazil Under-17 international, but will have to spend a whopping £26.5million to land their man. Everton have already had an offer rejected for the versatile attacker, worth half that figure.
Arsenal are likely to be looking to the Brazilian market for additions, having signed Gabriel Martinelli from Ituano last summer which has turned out to be a roaring success. David Luiz has been signed, while Pablo Mari joined from Flamengo.

Veron has caught the eye after clocking up four senior appearances despite his tender age, and has even netted twice – notching a brace in a 5-1 Brazilian Serie A win over Goias FC. A striker or a right winger, Veron has enormous potential.
Footballing pedigree is not even lost on the player’s name. As per the Evening Standard, he is named after former Manchester United star Juan Sebastian Veron who was signed by Sir Alex Ferguson in 2001 from Serie A side Lazio.
Arsenal supporters reacted on Twitter to the reported news that Veron could be on his way to the Emirates in the coming months, and many feel as though he would be a top addition for the future.
