Arsenal are reportedly monitoring Barcelona midfielder Rafinha and could look to sign the Brazil international if he does not complete a permanent move to Celta Vigo – and Gunners fans have responded on Twitter.
Rafinha, 27, is currently on loan at Celta after plummeting down the pecking order at Barcelona – after clocking up 90 appearances in all competitions for the Spanish champions. He has impressed with the La Liga side, and could stay.
Indeed, Celta have the chance to secure a permanent deal for Brazil international Rafinha. The former Inter Milan loanee would cost a bargain £14.3million – and that has seemingly seen Arsenal become interested in the versatile ace.
Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo claim Rafinha is interesting Arsenal who are ‘attentive’ to his situation. He could be an interesting addition, given he is able to play on both flanks, in attacking midfield and as a bog-standard central midfielder.
The Gunners need midfielders this summer, with Dani Ceballos expected to return to Real Madrid – while Matteo Guendouzi has endured a disappointing campaign. A recent wage deferral suggests Arsenal will not be spending big this summer.
A move to sign Rafinha could be ideal, then. On the cheap, versatile and with plenty of pedigree, Rafinha could be a crucial signing in Mikel Arteta’s reign – but Gunners fans are not impressed and supporters have urged their club to avoid him.
