Arsenal are reportedly rivalling Newcastle United to sign Wolfsburg target man Wout Weghorst this summer with a fee of £32million expected to be enough to land the colossus – and Gunners fans have responded.
Since joining Wolfsburg in the summer of 2018, 27-year-old Weghorst has been in stunning form for the Europa League outfit. In his first season, he netted 18 goals in 36 and created seven more.
The four-time Netherlands international has continued that form this time around with 20 goals in 42 – and five assists. Not only does Weghorst create and score goals, but he is also a focal point and crucial from set pieces.

German newspaper Bild have claimed that Weghorst is a target for both Arsenal and Newcastle ahead of the summer window. Despite having a contract until June 2023, Wolfsburg are willing to sanction a move for £32million.
The Gunners may consider a move to sign Weghorst with doubts over the future of both Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette. Joelinton has struggled in his first season at Newcastle.
Arsenal supporters have reacted on Twitter to the reported news that the Gunners are looking to sign Weghorst this summer and although Arsenal are not associated with using a target man – many want him signed.
