Arsenal are reportedly interested in agreeing a compensation package with Manchester United for teenage attacker Angel Gomes this summer as the player’s contract nears its expiry date – and Gunners fans have responded on Twitter.
Gomes, 19, has been afforded six senior appearances by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer this season and is one of a number of young players that United have high hopes for going forward. But his future is in enormous doubt.
The Daily Mail claim Manchester United have set a deadline of May 21 to agree a new contract for Gomes. The England Under-20 international, though, has an enormous amount of interest in his services.

Arsenal are just one of a number of clubs, with English clubs having to pay a lot more than those overseas. Barcelona, Borussia Dortmund and Inter Milan are also keen on signing Gomes, while the Mirror claim Chelse are confident of a deal.
The Gunners have a number of contract issues of their own to be concerned with. In a similar position to Gomes, Bukayo Saka’s current contract expires this summer and the north London club are no closer to agreeing a move to keep the winger.
Gomes’ potential is enormous, so much so that the Express reported back in 2017 that Cristiano Ronaldo wanted Real Madrid to raid his old side and sign Gomes – with Ronaldo reportedly seeing Gomes as a long-term replacement for himself.
Arsenal fans reacted on Twitter to the reported news that their club are interested in signing Gomes this summer, with many keen to see the London-born attacker in red and white come 2020-21.
