Arsenal fans react as club linked with Marseille wonderkid Boubacar Kamara

Arsenal have reportedly joined a whole host of Premier League clubs in the race to sign Marseille wonderkid Boubacar Kamara this summer – and Gunners fans have reacted on Twitter to the news that their club could sign the defender.

Kamara, 20, has already played 79 times for Marseille despite his tender age. Not only has he starred at centre-back, Andre Villas-Boas has taken his advantage of his ball-playing abilities – and added the role of holding midfield to his repertoire.

The Daily Express claimed earlier this week that France Under-21 international Kamara has attracted interest from Chelsea, West Ham United and Manchester City. It is believed Marseille will be willing to let Kamara go for a fee of £28million.

However, just days later, French outlet Foot Mercato added Arsenal and Manchester United to a list of clubs interested in signing Kamara in the coming months. He currently has a contract at Marseille until the summer of 2022.

Arsenal do need both a centre-back, and a holding midfielder. Pundits and fans have often discussed The Gunners leaky backline – many claim their underperforming centre-backs are to blame, while others reckon the midfield offer little protection.

Adding Kamara to Mikel Arteta’s options gives Arsenal more quality at centre-back and cover in holding midfield. Gunners supporters have urged their side to complete a move for Kamara.
