Arsenal fans react as Chelsea midfielder Jorginho is linked

Arsenal were yesterday linked with a move to sign midfielder Jorginho from London rivals Chelsea, according to Sky Sports – and the club’s supporters have been reacting on Twitter.

The Gunners have been chasing Thomas Partey and Lyon ace Houssem Aouar all summer long, with Jorginho now added to the shortlist as a potential alternative.

Arsenal are desperate to bolster their midfield before the window closes but have seemingly come to a stalemate with both Atletico Madrid and Lyon.

With that in mind, the Brazil-born player is now a target too, with Arsenal keen to poach the player from the London rivals.

The 28-year-old has captained Chelsea during the first two matches of the season against Brighton and Liverpool, missing a penalty against the champions.

Jorginho is paid £110,000-a-week at Chelsea and after a summer spending spree, it would be interesting to see whether Frank Lampard might consider a sale.

Arsenal fans have met this news with an element of surprise, although it seems some would welcome the 23-time Italy international to the club.
