Nottingham Forest are in talks with Arsenal over a deal for Carl Jenkinson before Thursday’s transfer deadline, according to Daniel Taylor, via the Sun.
The report says that Forest have joined West Brom and Crystal Palace in the chase for the 27-year-old, who has an asking price of £5 million.
It’s not quite clear whether Jenkinson would move on loan or on a permanent basis, but it’s clear that he needs gametime at this stage of his career.
He has played a part in pre-season and could be in line to start the season at right back because Hector Bellerin is still injured.
But that’s not a long-term solution and many Arsenal fans are absolutely desperate for him to leave the Emirates Stadium after a huge period of stagnation.
He isn’t good enough for the Gunners in the eyes of the fans and they would happily give him away to Forest if it meant he just moved on and offered all parties a clean break.
Jenkinson’s enthusiasm for the Gunners has not been in doubt but his quality isn’t there and he has vastly outstayed his welcome.
Worst player I have ever seen in an arsenal shirt

Pay for his house in Nottingham, pay for his kids education until their 20, pay for his wifes engagement ring, just get him out.

Forget the fact he’s not good enough for Arsenal, is he good enough for the championship?

Can't we just give him to them as a Goodwill gesture and throw in Mustafi as well.
