Arsenal fans have been giving their takes on reports claiming Championship side Brentford have made a bid for talented youngster Folarin Balogun.
The Daily Mail have claimed the Bees have seen an offer of £5 million plus add-ons rejected for the teenager, who is viewed as one of the academy’s brightest prospects.
Balogun is yet to make his first-team bow, but is heading the right way for a chance soon having demonstrated outstanding centre-forward play in recent times.
Last term, Balogun plundered 28 goals in 28 games and in 2019/20 so far, the New-York born ace has seven in 12 for the U23s.
Also chasing Balogun are AC Milan, whose CEO is former Gunners chief Ivan Gazidis.
Brentford are eyeing promotion to the Premier League, and appear to see Balogun as a means of boosting their prospects.
It would probably be a bit of a surprise if Arsenal were to entertain selling the England youth international, especially since he hasn’t had his first-team chance yet.
One would assume that that could soon be on the cards given his amazing development in the academy so far.
Arsenal fans react
Predictably, the majority of Arsenal fans are dead-set against losing the highly rated Balogun:
Having watched him play for the under 18s and 23s, his finishing and technical quality is better than Nketiah’s.
No chance we are selling

His finishing and all round ability is good imo, hope he doesn’t go, big prospect 🎯

If it wasn’t for an injury, Balogun would’ve already made his senior debut in the Europa League group stages.
We can by no means let him go. He’s THE definition of a goal machine & imo unless Nketiah has his big breakthrough this season, Balogun will soon leapfrog him
