Hector Bellerin’s knee injury will keep him out for the opening few weeks of the 2019/20 Premier League season, according to the Evening Standard.
They report that Arsenal had hoped the 24-year-old would be able to return and take part in pre-season, but his recovery has not yet reached that stage.
Following the departure of Stephan Lichtsteiner after just one season at the Emirates Stadium, Bellerin’s continued absence leaves Unai Emery with a choice between converted midfielder Ainsley Maitland-Niles again and Carl Jenkinson at right back.
Neither of those options is perhaps ideal for a side who have to be looking towards the top four next term, and the report says Arsenal are still keen on Thomas Meunier from PSG.

And some Arsenal fans have taken to Twitter to react to the news, with some gutted that a first teamer is out of the picture for longer.
Meanwhile, others want Emery to get into the transfer market to replace him, fearing a testing opening few weeks without a better options than pressing Maitland-Niles into action out of position again…
