Barcelona are reportedly keeping tabs on Arsenal wonderkid Charlie Patino, with reports emerging just days after his senior debut against Sunderland. Gunners fans have reacted on Twitter, issuing a hands-off warning.
Patino, 18, made his senior debut for Arsenal on Tuesday night. Coming off the bench with just over 10 minutes to go, the England Under-19 international tucked home Arsenal’s fifth of the night against League One Sunderland.
A brilliant start to life in the senior side, having sparkled in the club’s Under-23’s for much of the season. That is, despite only being 18. The midfielder is well ahead of the curve, but that has not gone unnoticed.
Indeed, Spanish newspaper Marca report that Barcelona – and Spain – are keeping tabs on Patino’s future. Until he plays for England’s senior side competitively, Spain could nab him from England’s clutches.

But for Arsenal, Barcelona are interested. The report states that one of his idols is Cesc Fabregas, a player that moved to Arsenal from Barcelona – and then back to the Nou Camp. They might try to persuade Patino, soon.
What do Arsenal fans think as Barcelona reportedly eye Patino?
There is no doubt that Barcelona might be interested. A potential Spain international, already scoring senior goals for Arsenal at just 18 – he is the newest Hale End academy that is exciting Arsenal supporters.
Much like a Fabregas-type player, Arsenal must do everything within their power to keep him. It is unclear how long he has left on his current deal, but handing him a bigger contract could tempt him. Arsenal fans had their say.
