Arsenal fans react as Alexander Isak shines in Euro 2020 contest

Arsenal target Alexander Isak produced an eye-catching display as Sweden started their Euro 2020 campaign with a 0-0 draw against Spain.

The youngster was linked to the Gunners by The Athletic who suggested that talks may have already taken place.

Isak enjoyed a stunning 2020/21. He found the net 17 times for Real Sociedad, registering two assists in the process.

Clearly it’s his goalscoring exploits that have led to interest building in the 21-year-old.

Arsenal may have to be quick to sign the Swede. Tutto Mercato Web has claimed that Jose Mourinho might be keen on signing the player for Roma.

Following last night’s performance against Spain, Gunners fans are desperate to see the youngster added to the ranks.

Isak has a £60 million release clause in his contract and signing the prospect won’t come easily.

The Gunners will offload some players this summer though and that will certainly raise some funds.

Isak earns £51,000-a-week and will be a wanted man, especially if he enjoys a strong Euro 2020.

The Swedish starlet showed some superb touches during the 69 minutes he was on the pitch.

Despite a 6ft 4in frame, he possessed superb feet and seemed to come alive in and around the penalty area.

Signing him this summer does look a long shot from an Arsenal perspective.

The Gunners aren’t in Europe and as a result, could find themselves a less attractive option for players.

Isak is certainly a player the club should continue to monitor though, with one eye firmly on the future.
