Arsenal produced an excellent display to beat Standard Liege 4-0 in the Europa League on Thursday night – but Gunners fans are disappointed with the performance of Ainsley Maitland-Niles.
Gabriel Martinelli scored a brace for Arsenal within 15 minutes, before Joe Willock and Dani Ceballos also got their names on the score sheet. It sees Arsenal sit at the top of their group, following a 3-0 win over Eintracht Frankfurt in September.
Hector Bellerin returned from injury to impress on thr right side of defence while new signing Kieran Tierney made his second appearance for the north Londoners since his £25million move from Celtic in the summer.

The Gunners named a strongside to take on the Belgian outfit, including Shkodran Mustafi, Lucas Torreira and Rob Holding. Maitland-Niles started on the right flank, alongside Willock and Reiss Nelson, behind the goalscoring Martinelli.
An England Under-21 international, Maitland-Niles has clocked up 76 senior Gunners appearances throughout his career – playing in the middle of the park, on the right side of defence or even on the right of midfield – as he did on Thursday night.
Arsenal fans reacted to £35k-a-week (Spotrac) Maitland-Niles’ display, criticising Arsenal’s number 15 for his display. One fan described Maitland-Niles as “lazy and inconsistent”, while another urged Arsenal to send him out on loan.
