It’s been a long season for Granit Xhaka, with the Nations League with Switzerland following on from a domestic campaign extended by Arsenal’s run to the Europa League final.
Xhaka came away without the trophy on both occasions, and was then asked by Blick, an outlet from his native country about his future with the Gunners.
When asked about the prospect of moving away, Xhaka said: “Not that I know. I have another four years contract, I only signed last year. I’m happy there, my family too. That’s the most important.”

Xhaka was brought in by Arsene Wenger as the solution to a long-standing problem at holding midfield but he is yet to win over the Arsenal fans.
Many took to Twitter to voice their displeasure about Xhaka seemingly not wanting to move – it’s rare that loyalty is so poorly received – they don’t want another season of him anchoring their midfield.
In actual fact, Xhaka could well end up as the club’s new captain if Laurent Koscielny were to move on this summer – there aren’t too many outstanding contenders – and it would be interesting to see the reaction then…
