Arsenal fans have been having their say on social media after reports suggested the Gunners could now move for Sam Johnstone this summer.

The Daily Star make the claim, suggesting that Johnstone could be available for much cheaper than Sheffield United stopper, Aaron Ramsdale.

Both players are currently with England in the Euros. But Ramsdale’s asking price is said to be closer to the £40m mark. Johnstone, meanwhile, will cost around half that at £20m.

Johnstone enjoyed a stellar season with West Brom. Despite their relegation, the former Manchester United man was still regarded as one of the standouts in the Baggies XI.

Arsenal, meanwhile, are in the market for a new goalkeeper to provide back up to German stopper, Bernd Leno.

Better than Ramsdale

Arsenal fans are always vocal on Twitter when it comes to potential new signings. And it’s no different here with Johnstone.

While the Baggies star is not a ‘glamour’ signing as such, it seems that he’ll still be more welcome than Blades stopper Ramsdale.
