Matteo Guendouzi completed 90 minutes in the win over Huddersfield on Saturday – and some Arsenal fans on Twitter were full of praise for him after his performance.
The Gunners scraped to an ugly 1-0 victory against Huddersfield and in the process maintained their current extraordinary run of 21 games unbeaten across all competitions.
Lucas Torreira’s late bicycle kick in the match gave the hosts three points at the Emirates Stadium and it was midfield partner Guendouzi that played a crucial role in the build up.
Guendouzi’s brilliant through ball found Pierre-Emerik Aubameyang in the penalty area, who assisted the Arsenal goal with his cross.
A selection of Arsenal fans singled out Guendouzi for his overall display and believe he made a positive impact on the game.
The 19-year-old central midfielder has surprised many since his arrival in the summer and is developing into an important first-team player.
He is a no-nonsense enforcer that is not shy in his tackles and can be a little rash at times, but is still developing his game and is demonstrating real quality on the ball during his first year in the Premier League.
One fan even made a comparison with Guendouzi to ex-Arsenal and current Chelsea pass master Cesc Fabregas.
Here are some of the Arsenal fan tweets on the latest contribution of Frenchman Guendouzi:
Guendouzi by the way is fantastic. He has balls during big moments and executes killer passes when we really need them.

Thank god for Guendouzi. Don’t think anyone else bar Torreira could’ve picked out Aubameyang for our goal
