Arsenal were beaten 3-2 by Crystal Palace at the Emirates Stadium as their top four hopes took a huge blow.
The Gunners had a huge opportunity with Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United both losing, but Unai Emery’s men slipped up as Roy Hodgson’s team secured mathematical Premier League safety.

The result leaves Arsenal fourth, but Chelsea can overtake them with a draw against Burnley on Monday.
Emery went with a very bold lineup on the day, with Konstantinos Mavropanos and Carl Jenkinson starting in defence.
In midfield the Spaniard opted to go with Matteo Guendouzi and the rarely seen Mohamed Elneny.
The pair did not work particularly well with one another, with the Egyptian struggling in particular.

Elneny was undoubtedly rusty having featured in just 15 games before the Palace clash, and he struggled to be positive and progressive in possession.
Arsenal fans react
While Shkodran Mustafi bore the brunt of fans’ criticism, Elneny certainly did not escape, with a large number expressing their desire to see him sold this summer:
