Arsenal fans praise Thomas Partey for his display against Burnley

Arsenal left Turf Moor with just a point after their trip to Burnley on Saturday – but some of the club’s fans on Twitter were upbeat about the display from Thomas Partey.

Mikel Arteta’s side will certainly feel like it’s two points dropped with the 1-1 scoreline against Burnley this weekend.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang put the Gunners in front in the sixth minute with his low finish, as the visitors really dominated the opening half an hour.

But a calamitous mistake from Granit Xhaka in the 39th minute gave Burnley a way back into the contest, with his pass deflecting into the Arsenal net off Chris Wood.

It was much more difficult in the second half for the North London club to find their rhythm and attention now turns to the Europa League, which may represent the club’s best chance of getting into Europe for next season.

A selection of Arsenal supporters on social media felt that their star Partey deserved individual praise.

The 27-year-old central midfielder was instrumental in the build up to Aubameyang’s goal with his playing out from the back and his forward pass.

His first season at the Emirates Stadium has been plagued by injuries, but he played 80 minutes agains Burnley to help build his fitness and put in a decent performance in the centre of the park.
