Arsenal fans praise midfielder Dani Ceballos for his display against Benfica

Arsenal recored a 1-1 draw against Benfica on Thursday night – and some of the club’s fans on Twitter picked out their midfielder Dani Ceballos as a huge positive from the result.

The Gunners earned a potentially vital away goal in the first leg of the Europa League Round of 32 tie.

Bukayo Saka’s close-range finish for Arsenal in the 57th minute cancelled out the converted penalty from Pizzi which had taken place just two minutes before.

It means that the Premier League outfit have a minor advantage over the Portuguese club going into the second leg next week.

With Mikel Arteta’s side showing real inconsistent form domestically this campaign, the Europa League looks the best avenue to qualify for next season’s Champions League and there is also a trophy on the line.

Arsenal’s draw against Benfica was arguably one of the toughest on paper, but they will feel confident going into next week.

A selection of Arsenal supporters on social media felt that Ceballos was one of the best players on the pitch.

The central midfielder was taken off in the 89th minute for the closing stages of the match, but helped pull the strings when in possession and also worked hard defensively off the ball.

He is a 24-year-old Spaniard that has shown when he’s on form he’s a real asset at the Emirates Stadium, but there is plenty of competition in the centre of the park.
