Gabriel Martinelli only came on in the 83rd minute but he helped Arsenal to a point yesterday.
Arsenal were losing at home to Southampton in what would have been an embarrassing result. Southampton recently lost 9-0 to Leicester City but they twice took the lead against the hapless Gunners.
Alexandre Lacazette brought Arsenal level in the first half after Danny Ings’ early strike. James Ward-Prowse then scored, tapping in a rebound after his initial penalty was saved in the 71st minute.
Double sub pays off

With the game slipping away, Unai Emery turned to two of his youngsters. Joe Willock and Martinelli entered the field in place of Hector Bellerin and Lucas Torreira. And this move paid dividends.
Willock was on hand to make a goalline clearance to prevent Southampton from taking a 3-1 lead. Then, six minutes into stoppage time, Martinelli produced a piece of magic to get Arsenal level.
The Brazilian teenager picked the ball up, drove at the Southampton defence and drilled a cross into the box, where Lacazette popped up to equalise. Here are some Arsenal fans praising Martinelli for his short cameo.
