Arsenal fans were already prepared for the loss of Aaron Ramsey to Juventus this summer after his contract at the Emirates Stadium ran down.

But the Welshman has already played his last game for the club after his season was cut short by injury, as confirmed by the BBC.

In recent months, Ramsey has underlined his importance to this Arsenal side; with his ability to arrive late from midfield and add drive to a side who can be one-paced and flimsy.

Ramsey has been a good servant to the club, scoring in two FA Cup finals, which helped end the trophyless spell of nine years under Arsene Wenger.

He has not always been universally popular with the supporters but they certainly value him now and will miss him next season when he’s not here.

And after any hopes of an emotional final performance in the Europa League showpiece in Baku have been dashed by that injury prognoses, Gunners supporters took to Twitter show their appreciate for the midfielder, who Spotrac claim earns £120,000 a week.
