A number of Arsenal fans have taken to Twitter to suggest that Ainsley Maitland-Niles is simply not good enough for the Gunners first-team after his Europa League performance on Wednesday.
Unai Emery is coming under increasing pressure at the Emirates. Arsenal conceded a late equaliser to draw 1-1 with Vitoria in Portugal. They remain on course for the knockout stages of the competition. But the problems remain.

The Gunners have not won any of their last four games, and have thrown away leads in each of those fixtures.
The draw in Portugal was perhaps the most uninspiring result of the lot. Arsenal registered just one shot on target. Emi Martinez was, without doubt, the busier goalkeeper.

There were not too many performances to be positive about. But it appears that Maitland-Niles’s display at right-back was one which left the Arsenal fans particularly frustrated.
In fairness to the youngster, he is not a full-back. But it is also not a position that is unfamiliar to the academy graduate. And the lack of impact that the 22-year-old made left the Gunners supporters incredibly disappointed.
Arsenal were not particularly dangerous down the right flank. Admittedly, they rarely looked to be in any trouble down that side either. But some fans are adamant that Maitland-Niles is not good enough for the Gunners.
They have suggested that he needs to be sold in an upcoming window. A number of fans are convinced that he no longer has the potential to develop into a first-team regular at the Emirates.
Here is what some of the supporters were saying after his display on Wednesday…
